These pictures are of welds I made with a 80 Amp power source that runs off of 110. The machine is a thermal dynamics Dragster 80.  I was surprised how stable the arc was.  The material was as thick as it could handle at 3/16". I did turn the amperage down to about 15 and was able to actually run a bead on the side of a piece of 3/32" ER-70S-3 wire. At maximum amps the machine has about a 10% duty cycle. But was small enough I could put it in my lunchbox..
